"My love of dogs, especially the German Shepherd, made me interested in learning the latest methods used in training. After a long search, I decided to train at Colorado K-9 Acres with Sharyn. I'm so grateful to have had the great opportunity to train with her. She taught me so many things in an intensive, 4 week period. Sharyn handled each step of my training program step by step, starting from very basic training up to advanced professional techniques. I also learned about canine health, and structure, as well as how to evaluate temperament. I've learned that training dogs is a science and an art. Each single dog should have a different training method, and knowing the nature and temperament of the dog is the proper start for training any dog. I feel confident about going home and training my dog and helping others too!"

Colorado K-9 Acres offers a variety of training from basic through advanced obedience training to Schutzhund preparation or training. We also offer tracking classes and socialization work. Training is done motivationally. I train YOU to train your dog. We concentrate initially on getting attention from your dog. Then we work hard to identify and utilize your dogs' natural drives (or enthusiasm) for food or a toy to modify its' unwanted behavior. All training is done in one-on-one sessions.

Dogs must meet the same health requirements to be on the property as if they were being boarded. Fees are payable in advance. Training times/days are flexible. Basic through advanced obedience courses usually last a minimum of three months. I am a also a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.

In-House Schutzhund Training and Titling

If you do not have the time or knowledge to title your own dog, we can do it for you. Please contact us for further information. All such training is done on a contractual basis and is NOT rushed. When your dog leaves us it has real training and a real title. While here your dog is cared for in a state-of-the art clean, secure facility, fed premium food and given daily exercise, training and attention.
